Scholarships

Beta Sigma Alpha, Sororidad Latina, Inc. was founded in 1991 as The University of Connecticut’s first Latina sorority. This is a service organization dedicated to addressing the needs of the Latino community. Our sorority’s mission is to be a positive force in the lives of young Latinas pursuing higher education by providing guidance and support.

We applaud the efforts of these young women by offering the Alma Maldonado-Cordner Book Scholarship.

College Applicants

 

A scholarship in the amount of $750.00 

will be awarded to an undergraduate female student of Latino origin attending

a four-year university.

High School Applicants

 

A scholarship in the amount of $750.00 

will be awarded to a graduating female high school senior of Latino origin attending

a four-year university.

2024 Scholarship Winners

Congratulations to this year's Alma Maldonado-Cordner Book Award Winners. Our renewal college recipients this year are Yaritza De La Cruz and Gabriella Rodriguez.

 

Our high school awardees are Ambar Pena Rivera, Jessica Nazario, Valery Villavicencio and Yarian Lugo.

We are happy that this financial support can help further their academic pursuits.  Please join us in wishing them success in their future academic endeavors.​

get to see where and how your generous support makes an impact in the lives of Latina's pursuing higher education.
